Edward M. Hand

Edward M. Hand of Boca Raton passed away on Friday, November 25, 2016 at Hospice by the Sea.  Edward was born and raised in Montreal, Canada; the son of Ernest and Luetta Trimm Hand.  He met love and life partner, Karen Sucevan while in Florida. They later married on July 23, 1982.   Ed was a successful general contractor and owner of Keddy Construction, Inc; but more important to him was being a good father.  As his children grew and shared his love of hockey; Ed was a natural for Youth Hockey Coaching and was instrumental in the early development of travel hockey in south Florida.  He was always there; anytime anyone needed him.  In later years, Ed was happy to travel with Karen at his side. Family times, playing with the grandchildren, and watching sports with his boys were the best of times!   Ed will be deeply missed by Karen, his loving wife of 34 years; his daughter Kristina; sons James and Michael; grandchildren Ariana and Ava.  Ed is also survived by his brothers Keith, John, Danny and James; his sisters Josie, Judy, Carol, Nelda and Bonnie as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews as well as many life-long friends that loved him like a brother. 

Viewing and visiting with the family will take place from 3:00-7:00pm on Sunday, November 27, 2016 at Glick Family Funeral Home.

We will always remember his compassion to others; his loving big heart, and try to follow his example in life.   In the spirit of helping others, donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the South Florida Chapter of Crohns and Colitis Foundation (ccfa.org/chapters/florida) in memory of Edward Hand.
