Doreen Adele (Christopher) Franklin

Doreen A. Franklin passed away peacefully at home on June 9, 2016, surrounded by her loving family. Doreen is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Allan, and loving children Lisa, Peggy and Jon.

Doreen will also be missed by her many friends and family; her cousin Bobbi; her nephew Craig (and wife Sandy), their children Sarah and Zachary, and grandchild Daphne; her niece Starla (and husband George) and their daughter Thalia; her daughter-in-law Rose Anne; and Doreen’s many cousins in England.

Doreen was born in Jersey City, raised in North Bergen, and graduated from Emerson High School in Union City, NJ. After working for Yardley’s, she married Allan and they lovingly raised their family in North Bergen and then Allendale, NJ. Doreen enjoyed working as a secretary part-time at Ebasco, Western World, and Minolta in New Jersey, before moving to Boca Raton, FL in 1982.

Doreen was pre-deceased by her loving parents, Peggy and Jack Christopher, and devoted brother, Richard.

Doreen was a sweet, warm and giving woman who enjoyed reading, sewing, cooking, watching old movies, playing cards and Scrabble, trips to the Shore, and spending time with ther family and friends.

A private memorial service will be held for this wonderful woman. We will miss Doreen dearly. Her memory will stay alive in all whom knew her.
