Charles “Chuck” Hugh Fields, Sr. (October 27th 1934 – November 16th 2011)

Born in Booneville, Kentucky to Mae Gross Fields and Hubert Fields.   Upon completion of High School he enrolled in Eastern Kentucky University.  He honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.  After the war, he re-enrolled at Eastern Kentucky University, where he was a varsity basketball player and earned his Bachelor’s degree.  He later earned a Master of Science degree in Counseling.

In 1965 Chuck moved to Florida and served as the guidance counselor at Boca Raton High School.   After leaving the education profession, he became a Claims Adjuster with State Farm Insurance and later upon receiving his Insurance license a Nationwide Insurance Agent. He became a small business owner, opening Fields Insurance Agency in Boca Raton with his wife Victoria and serving as its president for twenty years.

Prominent among his many achievements, he was a 32nd Degree Mason, a member of the Scottish and York Rites, a Shriner (AmaraTemple).   Chuck attended Advent Lutheran Church of Boca Raton.  He was a life-long sports fanatic and staunch University of Florida Gator Booster for the past twenty-eight years.

Chuck is predeceased by his parents and his first wife, Fosteen Spencer Fields.  He is survived by: his wife of thirty-one years, Victoria Ann Fields; his daughter Diane Freglette (Daniel); his sons Charles “JR” Fields, Jr., Gregory Bonner (Katherine), and Michael Bonner (Kelley) and five grandchildren; Sarah Freglette, Christopher Bonner, Angelique Bonner, Ashley Bonner, and Joseph Bonner.
  
Visitation will be from 6-8 pm on Tuesday, November 22nd at Glick Family Funeral Home.  A funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Wednesday, November 23rd at the funeral home.  Burial with military honors will follow at the Boca Raton Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.   As Always, Go Gators!
