Bonita May Brozovsky, known to all of her family and friends as Bonnie, has returned to heaven. If you had the happy experience of meeting her, you would agree that she surely was an angel walking with us on earth. Bonnie always greeted us with a warm and happy "what's new?". Then she patiently waited and listened as we would try to put into words the latest details of our lives.
Bonnie was born on May 12, 1942 to Helen and Bernard Brozovsky, in Berwyn, Illinois. The party girl, as her father had nick named her, enjoyed a wonderful Thanksgiving, Fabulous Christmas, fun birthday party for a friend December 29th, and then she partied on New Years Eve. On New Years Day, after a light breakfast, she was taken back Home to receive her Heavenly Wings.
Helen and Bernard Brozovsky were among the Illinois parents that met with other parents of special needs children and together they planned and brought to reality the Seguin School in Berwyn, Illinois. It was Helen Brozovsky who met with the banker and convinced him to loan them the money for their dream. It was also this special Mother that wrote the first school curriculums for the teachers to follow. Helen tirelessly grouped parents together and got people involved. Please take time to go online and look up the school. For 60 plus years now, the Seguin School has grown and is going strong; championing the lives and achievements of the disabled community.
Once in Florida Bonnie attended the Boca Raton Hab Center and later the Lake Worth Hab Center. She loved them both and involved herself with all of the activities. She especially enjoyed the sports like bowling and of couse the music and the dancing. On Bonnie's 60th birthday, 60 invited guests enjoyed her hospitality. She smiled every second of the big affair and danced every dance with her dear friends and family.
After Bonnie's parents died, Bonnie lived with her sister Judi in Delray Beach and then with Gail Roca at the group home; The Home for the Handicapable in Lake Clarke Shores. Gail continued the families tradition of pampering Bonnie and kept up with her ever growing pink warerobe of clothing, accessories, and holiday headbands. Bonnie proudly wore her light up necklace this past Christmas season.
Bonnie will be dearly missed by her sister and her family, Mary Brigitte, Bob, and Rob Wiebelt and Donnie Ferel. Also, by the sainted Gail and Carissa Roca and their dear and loving family. Bonnie's parents and her sister Judi Reynolds Ferel, predeceased Bonnie and stood with the Lord to welcome Bonnie back home. The family and friends that remain will dearly remember and smile when Bonnie is spoken of.
If you would like to make a difference for all of the other special angels that follow Bonnie, kindly consider this: The Group Home for the Handicapable needs a new kitchen. This little galley kitchen has been turning out each special meal for the kids there for way to long. The Formica counters are holding the cabinets up! Just, like her Mom, Brigitte Wiebelt knows that if everybody works together, it can be done! Please make out donations to Brigitte Wiebelt. Every dime will be prayed over and rubbed together to make this kitchen happen. May God Bless You.
