Barbara Jean (Jagersma) Decker

Barbara “Bobbie” Jean Jagersma Decker passed away on October 29, 2017 after a long illness.   Her mother and father, sister Ann Rixie, and beloved son Brent Thiessen precede her in death.

Bobbie was born April 7, 1936 in Dowagiac, Michigan to Louise and Rudolph Jagersma.  She devoted her life to raising her family.  She married Gerald Decker 50 years ago and together they raised the “Decker Dozen” in Kankakee Illinois and then Boca Raton, Florida.

Bobbie will be remembered for her great sense of style and sense of humor.  She was a cherished mother, daughter, sister, aunt and grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Gerald Decker, and children Daniel and Kelly Decker, Debbie Decker Frustino, Susan Decker, Michael Decker, Anne and Eddie Sheehan, Kerry Thiessen, Jackie and Courtney Mahey, Tracey and Richard Giarratana, Billy and Shayna Decker, and 18 grandchildren. 

Services will be held Thursday November 2, 2017 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton, FL. A visitation will be held from 5-6pm, with a funeral service beginning at 6pm.  In lieu of flowers please direct donations to www.adventsquare.org or by mail to Advent Square Memory Care, 4798 N Dixie Hwy, Boca Raton, FL 33431  561-391-7207.
