Anthony Mark Scala

Anthony "Mark" Scala of Boca Raton passed away peacefully on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Cleveland Clinic in Weston, Florida. Mark was 68 years old.

Mark is survived by his loving wife, Jayne, daughter Dr. Michelle Scala Frenchman and husband  Dr. Shepard Frenchman (of Bradenton, FL), son Joseph Bass and wife Cindy, daughter Janessa Scala, grand children:  Jonathan, Sebastian, Dylan and Kaileigh, brothers Greg Scala (Gina), Chris Scala, and Tom Scala (Tammy), sister Sally Scala Spiegel (Howard), and his beloved niece's and nephews.

Mark was a Professional Structural Engineer and a member of FSEA Florida Chapter and the 2011 Founder and President of the F.S.E.A. Palm Beaches Chapter.

Mark was born in Orlando, FL, graduated with his Bachelors of Science in Engineering at the University of Central Florida.  He worked for several Steel Manufacturing companies prior to forming his own business:  A.MarkScalaP.E., Inc. in Pompano Beach Florida.  He then worked for the Broward County Board of Rules and Appeals as their Chief Structural Engineer until retirement in 2012.  Mark has since maintained his Professional License and worked as a Structural P.E.  for many architects and contractors in Palm Beach County as an Independent business.

As a boy and younger man Mark loved sports, Football, Tennis, Boating.  He was a dedicated father and family man.  He loved his children, grand children, nieces and nephews. His family was most important of all.

Mark was a strong supporter of our community, an FAU Football season ticket holder, he had a generous heart and a kind, uplifting spirit.

Mark was a true friend to many, a mentor to the young, a light in his children and grandchildren's life and a wonderful husband to his wife Jayne.

A visitation will be held from 6-8 pm on Friday, August 25 at Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton.  A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 26 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Boca Raton.
