Alma L. Catsman, 95, died on September 16, 2015 at her home in Boca Raton, Florida after a short illness. Mrs. Catsman for many years had resided in Michigan, New York City and Palm Beach. She became a permanent resident of Boca Raton in 2008. She was a world traveler and loved life, living it to the fullest. Mrs. Catsman was a well-known philanthropist, generously donating to many animal charities, including Leader Dogs for the Blind, where they honored her by naming one of their dogs after her. Mrs. Catsman gave both her time and money to all of the Arts and loved everything beautiful, especially her garden.
Mrs. Catsman was an excellent golfer and belonged to many golf clubs around the country. She was still an active member of the Boca Grove Country Club until her death. Bridge was another passion she enjoyed. She was also a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Boca Raton.
Mrs. Catsman was preceded in death by her husband, Samuel Catsman, her daughter, Sandra, and her 3 grandsons, Mark, Brandon and Brock.
Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Glick Family Funeral Home in Boca Raton. Mrs. Catsman will be interred at the Boca Raton Mausoleum Complex. In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Catsman’s family ask that a contribution be made to the Tri County Humane Society in Boca Raton, FL in her name.
